Dianne Grote Adams is a Board-Certified Industrial Hygienist, Board-Certified Safety Professional and Certified Professional Environmental Auditor in Health and Safety with more than 30 years of experience.  Since 1992, Dianne has been the President of Safex. Prior to consulting, she held safety and training positions with Abbott/Ross Laboratories, was an industrial hygienist for ChemLawn Services Corporation and with the Ohio OSHA Consultation Program. Dianne received a BA in Life Science from Otterbein College and a MS in Environmental Health/Occupational Safety from the University of Cincinnati.

 

Dianne has comprehensive environmental, safety and industrial hygiene experience. She has conducted audits, supervised ES&H staff and trained management and ES&H professionals. During her career, she has conducted more than 500 industrial hygiene and indoor air quality surveys, supervised more than 800 indoor air quality and industrial hygiene monitoring projects; written and reviewed compliance programs, and developed and presented more than 300 employee and management training courses.

 

Dianne is active in the professional community. She is currently serving as the co-chair of the AIHA Local Section Summit and on the advisory committee for both the Ohio University Industrial Hygiene Program and The Ohio State University Environmental Healthy Sciences Division. She is a member of the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA), American Academy of Industrial Hygiene (AAIH) and the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE).  She was the Chair of the AIHA Local Section Council (2004-2007), on the nominating committee for the AIHA Board of Directors (2006-2007) and a member of the AIHA PSTFII Task Force (2007-2008). Dianne was on the annual All-Ohio Safety Congress program committee for the chemical section in 2007-2009 and the industrial hygiene section prior to that.  

 

Dianne received the Central Ohio Local Section of the AIHA "Outstanding Industrial Hygiene Award" in 1992 and the “Industrial Hygiene Award of Excellence” in 2003.  Dianne was named to the Business First "40 Under 40" Business Leaders in 1993. In 2002, she was a finalist for the Ernst and Young “Entrepreneur of the Year” for business services and in 2005, she was one of five “Change Makers” to premiere in the June Columbus Business First Women in Business Supplement. In 2007, Dianne was the proud recipient of the “Meg DeWerth Industry Impact Safety Award”, presented by the Builders’ Exchange.

 

Dianne presents regularly at national (AIHce, ASSE), state (Safety Congress) and local conferences (BX, Safety Councils). Dianne is an adjunct professor at Columbus State Community College for the industrial hygiene course.
